How this works
Three rules
Real places only
Every listing comes from OpenStreetMap, pulled on July 15, 2026, and links to its own map record. If mappers have not tagged a place, it is not here. We would rather be short than wrong.
No ratings, no hours
We do not score places, and we do not copy opening hours that will be stale by the time you read them. Where a place has an official site on record, we link it and let it speak.
Paid content is labeled
Listings cannot be bought. Sponsored articles, when they exist, carry a disclosure at the top and their links are marked as sponsored. The editorial policy spells it out.
Austin in three numbers
The city's population was 979,882 in the 2023 Census estimate, up from 965,827 at the 2020 count. It covers 320.56 square miles of land, which works out to about 3,057 people per square mile.
