Zilker is the neighborhood named for the park, and the park is most of the map. Zilker Park runs along the south bank of Lady Bird Lake and holds Barton Springs Pool, the botanical garden, the great lawn where the big festivals set up, and the trailhead end of the Barton Creek Greenbelt. Everything else in the district sits on the streets that feed into it, mainly Barton Springs Road.

The residential part is west and south of the park: single-story houses on lots that have become very expensive, and a handful of newer buildings along South Lamar. It is one of the few central neighborhoods where the parks category has more entries than coffee, which tells you what people come here for.

Our radius is about 1.3 km from a point on Barton Springs Road. Barton Hills is directly south across the creek and Bouldin Creek is east across South Lamar; both pages pick up places that sit on the district edges.
