For local businesses and agencies
Partner with Locally Austin
Three ways to appear on this site, each labeled as paid, none of them a listing. If you run a place in one of our 12 districts, or you are an agency placing for a Texas client, this page has the rates and the rules.
What you can buy
| Placement | What you get | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Sponsored article | A labeled article in the sponsored section, written by you or with our help, up to three outbound links, indexed and kept online for at least twelve months. Links carry rel="sponsored". Disclosure at top and bottom. | $120 per article |
| Featured box | A clearly marked sponsor box on one neighborhood or category page, above the listings, with your name, one line and one link. Never inside the list itself. One sponsor per page. | $60 per month |
| Link in an existing article | One contextual link added to an existing editorial page where it fits the sentence, with a note that the link is sponsored. Only where relevant. We decline mismatches. | $50 per link |
Three or more placements in one order: 20% off the total. Agencies placing for several clients get the same rate on the combined order.
Minimum order $50. Rates are for launch and will move with traffic; an agreed order is honoured at the quoted rate.
What you cannot buy
A place in a list, a higher position, a rating, or the removal of a competitor. The 249 listings on this site are generated from OpenStreetMap and rebuilt from the data on every refresh; there is no hand in the process to pay. If your business is missing, the fix is free: add or correct it on OpenStreetMap and it will appear on the next pull.
The rules, stated up front
- Every sponsored article carries a visible disclosure at the top and bottom naming the sponsor.
- Outbound links in sponsored content carry
rel="sponsored". A different attribute can be agreed in writing and is stated in the disclosure. - Sponsored articles live in their own section and are not mixed into neighborhood or category pages.
- We decline gambling, adult, cannabis and anything that would mislead a reader about a real place or a real neighborhood.
- We edit for accuracy and plain English. We do not publish claims about a place that we cannot check against a source.
- Placements stay online for the agreed term. We do not remove or reword them afterwards without telling you.
An example of what a sponsored article looks like, with the disclosure in place, is here. It is a sample and is kept out of search indexes.
Who this suits
A coffee shop, taqueria or bar that wants to be found by people searching a specific Austin neighborhood; a service business with an Austin story to tell; an agency that needs a placement on a local site with real content around it. The site is new in its current form and traffic is modest, which is why the rates are where they are. Ask for the current numbers and we will send the analytics screenshot rather than a claim.
How to order
The enquiry address is published here once the site's mail is set up; it is not yet, so placements cannot be ordered today. When it is: write with what you want, the page or district, and the link. We reply within two working days with a yes, a no, or a question. Payment is by invoice before publication.
