Bookstores in Austin

Austin’s bookstores are few enough to fit on one page and spread thin enough that no single neighborhood gets its own bookstore list. The ones we found are a mix of new-book shops, used and rare dealers, and a couple of specialist stores, mostly on the main streets of the central districts.

A place is listed if OpenStreetMap tags it as a book shop inside one of our twelve areas. That will miss stores mappers never added and any that sit outside the district radii, including some well-known ones in parts of the city we do not yet cover. It is a short list because the tagged data is a short list, and we would rather show the real shops than pad the page.
